Phinney Receives Award


Out of close to 50 nominations, Jenifer Phinney was selected as a top 3 Nebraska Association of Service Providers DSP award winner for her outstanding work serving people with developmental disabilities. On September 17th, Jenifer accepted her award in front of her peers and individuals receiving services at our Hastings Developmental Disability Services site. Congratulations Jenifer!!

Galen Stehlik Named 2020 Vision For The Future


In May at our Annual Dinner, Galen Stehlik was awarded the 2020 Vision of the Future award for his relationship and long-term commitment to our services. He is truly a friend of Goodwill. Galen connected with Goodwill in the early 1980s and has remained an active supporter ever since. He currently serves on our Goodwill Foundation Board of Directors and he served as our Goodwill Industries Operating Board Chair in 1997. Principal Foundation awards grant to Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska


Grand Island, NE – The Principal Foundation awarded Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska a $10,000 grant for Goodwill’s Employment and Career Services Program. Employment and Career Services supports employment for people with disabilities throughout Goodwill’s 55-county service area. Employment Specialists assist people living with a behavioral health issue, acquired brain injury, developmental/intellectual disability, or substance use disorder find jobs and work successfully. Sam Gets Help With His Recovery With Goodwill


Sam battled drug and alcohol addiction.  His family and neighbors called the police multiple times in one month. Sam made the decision to seek inpatient treatment.  After completing the program, Sam began working with a Goodwill Community Support Worker to help him transition back into society and help support him in his recovery journey. Instead of going back to the environment that he left and risk relapse, Sam’s community support worker was able find him a different apartment and give him the fresh start he needed.  Today, Sam has maintained sobriety for the past six months and is working on [...]

Matt Finds Employment With The Help Of Goodwill


Matt found himself on hard times, with a mountain of bills, no gainful employment and on probation. He found his way to Employment and Career Services and completely turned his life around. Determining the right job match, Goodwill advocated for Matt to work at a job where he would experience success. He has completed all probation requirements, is successfully employed, has his own transportation, a safe place to live, healthcare and a better quality of life. He is enjoying his sense of belonging to the community and the respect he has for himself.

Goodwill Industries of Greater NE Opens Store in McCook
