Brent Johnson Named COO

Brent Johnson has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska (GIGN). Johnson joined Goodwill in July 2018 as Vice President of Retail with the responsibilities of overseeing our ten retail stores, the outlet store, warehouse, recycling, e-commerce, facilities, marketing, and transportation functions.
Johnson brings exceptional communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to advance Goodwill’s Mission of helping people with disabilities or barriers reach their goals and improve the quality of their lives. In the COO role, he will primarily focus on driving Goodwill’s strategic goals, furthering community engagement, collaborating with stakeholders, and marketing and development. “Brent’s commitment to the service of others, paired with the diversity of skills he brings to the table made him an ideal candidate for this role. I am incredibility excited to partner with Brent in new ways as we pursue new opportunities to engage and serve in our communities,” says Goodwill CEO Curtiss Dill.

Prior to joining Goodwill, Johnson honed his leadership skills in the hospitality and fundraising sectors. In these roles, he led operations, including sales, marketing, transportation, warehouse, and staffing. His diverse background includes overseeing management-level positions, developing personnel, building a sales force, creating new revenue streams, and controlling operational expenses.
A Grand Island native, Johnson received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He is committed not only professionally, but also personally to serving and improving his community; he generously donates his time to financial coaching for our veterans and supporting the Literacy Council of Grand Island.
