NIchole's initial goal when she came to Goodwill was to receive disability benefits, but she quickly realized working is a key component to her mental health. Nichole worked diligently with her Employment Specialist to build confidence, problem solve, and create a resume focusing on her skills and talents.

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska continues to make significant strides in fostering community integration, empowerment, and support for individuals facing disabilities and barriers. Through donations and purchases, Goodwill operates as a robust social enterprise dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities.

Mission and Impact

Founded by Reverend Edgar J. Helms, Goodwill remains committed to helping individuals with disabilities or barriers achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Programs provided by Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska include:

  • Employment & Career Services across multiple communities
  • Developmental Disability Services in Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney
  • Behavioral Health Services in Grand Island

Community Partnerships & Recognition

Collaborations with local employers, such as Live Well Physical Therapy in Grand Island and Heartland Chevrolet in Lexington, create meaningful employment opportunities. Goodwill’s CARF Accreditation underscores its commitment to excellence.
