Nichole Manages Her Mental Health

NIchole's initial goal when she came to Goodwill was to receive disability benefits, but she quickly realized working is a key component to her mental health. Nichole worked diligently with her Employment Specialist to build confidence, problem solve, and create a resume focusing on her skills and talents.

Tim Puts in the Work

Tim initially came to Goodwill because of the concern that family and friends had for the direction in which his life was going. Tim has been attending day services in Goodwill’s Behavioral Health Program.

Goodwill Foundation Board Announces New Members

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska is pleased to announce the newest members of the Goodwill Foundation Board: Jordyn Hubbard, Julie Markvicka, Joan Sabott, and Chad Schock. Each of these individuals brings an abundance of experience, leadership, and a passion for our mission of empowering individuals and creating opportunities within our community.

Jordyn Hubbard

 

Jordyn Hubbard

Currently in her third year as a Special Education Supervisor for Grand Island Public Schools, Jordyn Hubbard has spent her entire 11-year career dedicated to working with students with disabilities and their families. Jordyn has a rich background in education, having served as the Director of Skills Academy, a Special Education Instructional Coach, and a middle school Special Education Teacher. Her commitment to improving practices and outcomes for all students drives her to continue her education, as she is currently completing her Ed. S. in School Superintendency from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Jordyn looks forward to bringing her expertise and passion for education to her role on the Goodwill Foundation Board.

 

 

 

Julie Markvicka


Julia Markvicka

A devoted Christian wife and mother, Julie Markvicka has been an active member of the Grand Island community for many years. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and two Master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and School Counseling from Doane College. She currently works as a School Counselor at the Academies of Senior High in Grand Island. Julie’s passion for community service is evident through her involvement with Habitat for Humanity, the Grand Island Senior High Athletic Booster Board, and various ministries at Blessed Sacrament Church. She brings a heart for service and community engagement to the Goodwill Foundation Board.

 

 

Joan Sabott

 

Joan Sabott

As the Vice President of Organizational Development at Amur in Grand Island, Joan Sabott brings a wealth of experience in leadership development, strategic initiatives, and conflict engagement to the Goodwill Foundation Board. Joan has had a diverse career, working as a consultant, coach, and mediator across various industries, including organizational development, environmental projects, and public sector negotiations. Her extensive background in communication and conflict resolution will be a valuable asset to the Board as Goodwill continues to grow and develop its programs. Joan’s leadership will help advance our mission of empowering individuals in the community.

 

 

Chad Schock

 

Chad Schock

Chad Schock is a healthcare professional with a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Science Technology and post-bachelor certificates in CT and MRI from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He also holds a Master’s degree in Health Delivery Science. With over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field, Chad is passionate about patient care and has actively contributed to leadership activities and volunteer organizations. A devoted husband and father, Chad enjoys spending quality time with his family and giving back to the community. His dedication to service and leadership makes him a perfect fit for the Goodwill Foundation Board.
