Mitchell Thompson Joins Operating Board of Directors

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska is thrilled to welcome Mitchell Thompson to its Operating Board of Directors. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment, Goodwill relies on the dedication and expertise of its volunteer board members to fulfill its mission. Mitchell's extensive professional background and personal commitment to improving lives make him an outstanding addition to the team.

About the Board

The Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska Operating Board consists of volunteer leaders serving without pay for three year terms. These community leaders offer a broad range of knowledge and skills and a deep desire to help individuals with disabilities or barriers improve their lives. Their hours of service allow Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska to fulfill its mission and make positive changes in the greater Nebraska area.

A Commitment to Community and Care

Mitchell Thompson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, having received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, with honors, in 2019. This was following his four years at Wayne State College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Mitchell was born and raised in Arlington, NE where his passion for physical therapy began. Mitchell was heavily involved in athletics, and like clockwork, he sustained a significant injury nearly every high school football season, requiring the expert care only a physical therapist can provide. Thus, spurring him on his journey to his profession today. Mitchell currently serves as an inpatient, hospital therapist. He enjoys treating patients throughout the lifespan with everything from musculoskeletal to neuromuscular ailments. His professional interests include geriatric, vestibular, and orthopedic rehabilitation. Mitchell is also Co-founder and Co-director of Live Stronger, Live Well’s socially based fitness program for older adults. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his beloved family. His favorite activities include hiking, hunting, playing pickleball, and staying active.

Goodwill is proud to have Mitchell on board and looks forward to the positive impact he will make in the greater Nebraska community.
