Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska Relocating North Grand Island Retail Store to Former Office Max Location.

Grand Island, NE – Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska is excited to announce the relocation of its North Grand Island Retail Store to the former Office Max building at 2130 Diers Ave, Grand Island, NE 68803. Set to open its doors in early March 2025, this spacious location offers a more accessible and environmentally conscious shopping experience for Grand Island and surrounding communities.

This move signifies Goodwill’s commitment to sustainability, accessibility, and growth in our Mission Services. By selecting a previously existing building, Goodwill embraces its core values of environmental stewardship, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable practices. The new location provides an expanded (15,000 square feet) retail space for quality, affordable goods while also supporting Goodwill's sustainability initiatives by reducing the impact on area landfills.

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska empowers lives and sustains futures through our mission services, which are funded in part from proceeds from Goodwill retail stores, said Brent Johnson, Chief Operating Officer. The new location will offer a great shopping experience and strengthen our ability to invest in life-changing programs for people in Grand Island and across our fifty-five county service area in central and western Nebraska.

The proceeds from Goodwill’s stores, including the new Diers Avenue location, are critical to funding Goodwill’s mission-driven programs, which include employment, developmental disability, housing, and behavioral health services for individuals overcoming barriers to independence. Every purchase helps support Goodwill’s mission, directly benefiting the lives of community members seeking assistance with job training, career development, and supportive housing options.

Chief Executive Officer Curtiss Dill said, Our Grand Island North Store has been a staple of the community for many years, and we are excited for the opportunity to grow the store in its new location. With the ability to provide an enhanced donor and customer experience, we look for the new store to positively benefit our Mission Services and our community for years to come. As funding for behavioral health, employment, and developmental disability services continues to shrink, our Goodwill stores play a larger role than ever in filling the gap in funding to support the people we have the opportunity to serve.
